My goal while working with you is to help give you the confidence you need to successfully sleep-train your child. I use a variety of methods that will be chosen based on your family's parenting styles, comfort levels, and the needs of your child. I think it is so important for not only your child but for you as parents to get good, rejuvenating sleep so you all are able to take on the day well-rested! I will be by your family's side throughout the whole process encouraging you, educating you, and holding you accountable so you can accomplish your sleep goals.

FAQS

WHAT IS SLEEP TRAINING?

Sleep training is the process by which you teach your child to fall asleep independently rather than being fed/rocked/held to sleep. This is a skill that will allow your child to wake up throughout the night (which is normal) and be able to get themselves back to sleep without your help. The methods I use are very parent present and allow for you to be as hands-on or hands-off as you'd like while still letting them know you are there for them and giving them the support they need physically and emotionally.

WHAT IF MY BABY CRIES?

No matter what method you choose, there will always be some sort of crying. Your child has preferences of what they like and what they are used to in regards to how they get to sleep. When we take their preference away, there will be some pushback from them which is completely normal. I will be here guiding and supporting you through the crying so you are able to understand each cry and feel more confident in your child's ability to fall asleep without help from you.

DO I  HAVE TO NIGHT WEAN IN ORDER TO SLEEP TRAIN?

Night weaning and sleep training are two completely different things. It is completely possible to sleep train and still feed throughout the night - Our goal would be to put them back to bed awake so they aren't falling asleep while feeding. I have found that once children master the art of falling asleep independently the night feeds begin to decrease. If it's recommended by your pediatrician to continue the night feeds then we will plan accordingly for that.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY CHILD TO BE SLEEP TRAINED?

2 weeks is the critical window for being able to develop and create healthy sleep habits and learning how to fall asleep independently. I have seen families see results as fast as the first night and as "slow" as the full two weeks. The key to success is being consistent in the day/night routine, implementing the sleep method correctly, and setting boundaries with your child. All children are extremely different and have different needs so I am not going to say that your specific child will sleep perfectly 100% of the time - But we will see huge amounts of progress. As they grow you will have the tools needed to successfully get them back on track with sleep and continue to see results.
